The webcast will cover emerging trends in our health care environment which offer new and expanded roles for information professionals. These trends include e-Science, clinical translational research, and the electronic medical record. It’s important that we review the skills we have to see how we can use them in new ways and expand them to cover new ground. It’s also important to explore some of the new skills that we will need to remain a vital, growing profession.

These new environments are unknown territory for many health sciences librarians. The webcast will provide a platform to begin thinking about and discussing people skills, business skills, research skills, teaching skills, computer and technology skills that we need to make us more effective in the “changing horizon.”
